YOU LIKE BEING IN BED with the insurance industry ?
You have stock in the big health care HMOs so that you're making a tidy profit from other people's illness and pain ?
Or are you just a poor slob mouthing corporate propaganda ?
I think this is most likely. Gloomster, you're getting ----ed and you don't know it.

@goat909295
FYI, my healthcare insurance premium for my family went up 79% from 2005 to 2008 - in just three years it almost doubled!
In 2009, I decided to dropped down to the next lowest plan that has less coverage, and a 2X higher co-pay of $40 per visit.
It was clearly obvious that is exactly what the insurance company wanted everyone to do - drop the top plan - which is why the cranked up the premium of that plan so that they could kill it off and reduce coverage to maximize profits.

USA Today:
Iraqi pullout still on track
Iraq's elections went well enough to allow the U.S. military to stick to its plan to withdraw nearly half of the troops this year, the U.S. commander in Iraq said Monday.
"Unless there's a catastrophic event, we don't see that changing," Gen. Ray Odierno said. "We believe we're right on track."
Let's all hope for the best and that Odierno gets our service members home ASAP.

Another good reason to pass health insurance reform now:
Rush Limbaugh "Ill just tell you this, if this passes and its five years from now and all that stuff gets implemented — I am leaving the country. Ill go to Costa Rica."
And the real Irony?
Costa Rica has a successful "cradle to grave" universal health care system that is not just for Costa Ricans, but even for foreigners in the country.
Without hypocrisy, Republicans would have no policy at all!

Rush Limbaugh should try Somalia instead.
I'm pretty sure Somalia doesn't suffer from the evils of socialized medicine.
Former Alaska Gov. ... ( 12 hours ago by brentj30)
Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin -- who has gone to great lengths to hype the supposed dangers of a big government takeover of American health care -- admitted over the weekend that, during her childhood, she used to get her healthcare treatment in Canada's single-payer system.
"We used to hustle over the border for health care we received in Canada," Palin said in her first Canadian appearance since stepping down as governor of Alaska. "And I think now, isn't that ironic?"
Oh, the hypocrisy!
Here's something to ... ( 12 hours ago by bigtom714)
Here's something to ponder. If the healthcare reform will require almost everyone to purchase health insurance. Then those same companies that you've been bitching about will have 30 or 40 million new customers. Hence, the the insurance companies still make millions in profits. Whether it's from individuals, companies, exchanges or vouchers. They still win. Something to think about hey.
Sure costs will ... ( 12 hours ago by bigtom714)
Sure costs will come down at the expense of the taxpayer, but they will still make a profit, you can bet on that. I wonder how much stock in those insurance companies Obama,Pelosi,Reid and the rest of the carpetbaggers have. Either way we're screwed. You guys just don't get it.
So freethinkers,we ... ( 11 hours ago by bigtom714)
So freethinkers,we constantly talk about insurance companies. How is the healthcare reform bill going to bring costs down at these big hospitals. They charge an arm and a leg for some very standard procedures, plus an over night stay can clean out your savings account. Have at it. We would all like to know.

The explanation to your questions have been answered ad nauseum. Why don't you spend a little effort figuring out something for yourself instead of regurgitating tired conservative talking points.

bigtom714 says:
"Sure costs will come down at the expense of the taxpayer, but they will still make a profit, you can bet on that."
Oh, so now you don't think the insurance companies should make huge profits now? Now, that is not a very conservative position to take!
You may want to ask your conservative friends in the Congress why this bill is so F'ed up as they are the ones who made it that way.
You best start hoping reconciliation can fix such problems by adding back in the public option.
No brent,they ... ( 10 hours ago by bigtom714)
No brent, they haven't been answered and thats part of the problem. You should know Mister Businessman, that in order to stay in business, you need to make money, right. So isn't it nice that Obama wants to force people to purchase insurance, giving those companies 30 or 40 million new customers just like that. And you think Obama isn't a puppet. Silly freethinkers.
And what about the ... ( 10 hours ago by bigtom714)
And what about the hospitals. You won't even touch that one brent, because you don't know.

gloomster -
NO, as far as I am concerned insurance companies should be completely NON-PROFIT. The are JUST insurance companies - not hospitals! Every penny collected should back to providing health care minus the minimized cost of administration.
Medicare seems to get that job done with only 3% overhead yet, for some reason, the "more efficient" insurance companies need 15% to 25% overhead to get that done.
This is why we MUST have the public option aa the bloated CEO paydays will be over.

gloomster -
As for hospitals, one important cost reducer, with everyone covered, large numbers of people will NOT end up in the emergency room because they waited until they are seriously ill before going in. The emergency room service ends up costing todays system ( that the insurance companies love) ~3X what it would have cost for preventative or first stage treatment in a clinic.
Like I said ... ( 10 hours ago by brentj30)
Like I said gloomytom, once the Senate bill passes, you best hope or decide to help push to get a public option in there, or some other partial equivalent, to force some competition, or this new system WILL end up being an albatross!
And, again, you will have ONLY your friendly conservative Congressmen (Repugnicants and Blue Dog Dems) to blame for corrupting this bill and, fighting against the measures required to fix it, while supporting the status quo for the insurance industry.
I think the bloated ... ( 10 hours ago by bigtom714)
I think the bloated CEOs salaries in any industry should be over, especially Wall st. where the taxpayers bailed them. But we know that didn't happen. As far as hospitals, you're assuming that ER admissions will go down, But you say with everyone covered they'll go down. You refuse to address the "everyone covered" part. They'll be required to purchase insurance. That's 30 to 40 million new policies handed to them by Obama and company. You still think he's working for you don't you.
Array ( 10 hours ago by brentj30)
Oh, brother!
Gloomster ... you just don't have a clue, do you?
And, again, ... ( 10 hours ago by brentj30)
And, again, gloomster, you can blame YOUR conservative Congressmen for blocking every bit of legislation, and continued blocking of any legislation, toward ANYTHING that resembles intent to reduce CEO pay by any means.
These are the people YOU voted for!
You see the hypocrisy here at all????
Array ( 10 hours ago by brentj30)
come one now ...
Change the subject ...
Re-direct with some other irrelevant talking point ...
Avoid facing you hypocrisy head-on and admit you have a problem like a drunken fool!!
Repugnicants would have NO policy if it were not for hypocrisy!!!!

DId anyone notice that an iPod was on her belt? I had to go back and watch the original to make sure it wasn't there. That would have been the ultimate mind f*** if it was there in the original 1984 commercial.

You just can't face up to the facts about Obama brent. But thats okay. Change the subject hey. So the Gitmo detention center is still open and troops are still in Iraq. Lets not forget the 50,000 more troops ordered to Afgahnistan. Wasn't Obama going to talk to our enemies with no pre-conditions and solve all the world problems and conflicts. Wasn't that all part of his hope and change rhetoric. Silly liberals gobbled it up like candy. Pick a subject and lets go.
One more thing ... ( 9 hours ago by bigtom714)
One more thing about hospitals. If 30 to 40 million more people have health insurance. Do you really think they won't have to go the ER. You don't understand about people on Medicare or Medicaid do you. They call 911 or go to the ER at the slightest problem. Why,because they can. They'll pay the co-pay and get treated by some punky ER doctor just to make their family happy. But change to subject. We've beat this dead horse enough.
